Registration checklist, from opening the form to closing it.
Eighteen checks covering the registration window itself: what the form must collect, what to verify before approving an entry, and what has to be finished before the auction or draw.

Before you open the form
0/7Everything here is cheaper to decide now than to change once entries are arriving.
While the form is open
0/6Run these as entries arrive rather than in one pass at the end.
At closing
0/5The handoff into the auction. This is the part that is usually rushed.

What should a registration checklist cover?
A registration checklist should cover three phases: before opening (form fields, fee amount and account, entry cap, closing date), while open (duplicate checks on mobile number, payment verification, photo chasing, approval queue), and at closing (final count, categorisation into base-price tiers, export to the auction pool, and a message to everyone who registered).
Why registration takes the most organizer time
It looks like the easy stage and consumes more hours than any other, because it is the only one where data arrives from strangers, unvalidated, over a channel you do not control, while you are doing something else.
A tournament that closes with a verified, deduplicated, categorised pool walks into the auction and runs it. One that closes with a WhatsApp thread and a folder of payment screenshots spends the following week reconciling. The full registration guide.
The three that matter most
If you only enforce three items on this list: deduplicate on mobile number, verify payments against money actually received, and message everyone when the form closes. Those three prevent the problems that have no clean remedy later.
For the stages either side of this one, see the six-week planning checklist and the auction day checklist.
Registration checklist FAQ
When should the registration form close?
At least five days before the auction or draw, so there is time to verify payments, chase missing photos and categorise the pool into base-price tiers. Closing the night before guarantees an unverified pool on auction day.
What is the most commonly missed registration step?
Messaging everyone who registered once the form closes. Players who filled a form three weeks earlier do not know whether they are in, and the resulting individual queries cost an organizer more time than any other part of registration.
Does the checklist save my progress?
Yes, in your browser’s local storage, so it survives a reload on the same device. It is not synced anywhere and will not appear on another device.
