Battle-tested spreadsheet layouts featuring automated purse subtraction, squad count validation, and unsold player sorting for organizers running offline auctions.

Excel is fine for preparing data before auction day. It struggles once bidding is live: one person types while everyone waits, a pasted cell can overwrite the formula that tracks a purse, and team owners cannot bid from their own phones.

In Google Sheets choose File, then Import, then Upload, and select the downloaded file. Choose "Replace spreadsheet" and Sheets will split the columns for you.
Remaining purse is opening purse minus spend. Add a reserve check that compares the remaining purse against the number of unfilled slots multiplied by the base price, so a team cannot spend past the point where it can still fill its squad.
A spreadsheet cannot take input from several team owners at once, lags when projected to a screen, and loses its formulas the moment somebody pastes over a cell during live bidding.
